Maori Point Pinot Gris 2013
The 2013 growing season in Central Otago was an excellent one, despite beginning with frosts and ending with a condensed harvest. Early summer weather was warm and settled, while late summer was hot. A dry autumn allowed for ideal ripening and harvest conditions. Our Pinot Gris was harvested by hand, then fermented and aged in neutral French oak barrels.
This is a bold Pinot Gris, with a mouthwatering balance between powerfully layered sweet fruit, spice, and refreshing acidity. The nose of baked apple and ripe pear merges with vanilla, honey and flinty complexity on the palate. Finishes with lengthy citrus and mineral notes.
